Bear Branch Elementary student Ashley Horton was named the winner of four tickets to see singer and actress Myley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. The tickets were presented at the Manor House at The Barrington last week by Lifestyle Director Kim McGowan. Ashley, age 10, toured homes at The Barrington to be eligible for the drawing. She said the homes were beautiful and she enjoyed the tour. She remembered when her 8-year-old brother, Michael, entered one home. He said, “This house rocks.” The Barrington awarded Ashley the promotional, life-sized poster of Hannah Montana, four tickets, and a parking pass for the rodeo performance. McGowan said that the home tour and ticket drawing took place on Sunday, Feb. 22. She said that in addition to providing a home tour, visitors to The Barrington enjoyed a three-piece band, a trick roper, magicians, and balloons twisted into the shapes of hats guns and holsters. Although Ashley said that she did not watch a lot of television, she said she was very excited to win the tickets and would be giving the other tickets to her parents and her brother, so the entire family could enjoy the performance. “Hannah Montana” is an American Emmy Award-nominated television series, aired on the Disney Channel since 2006. The main character, played by Cyrus, leads a double life. By day, she is a normal teenager and by night, she is a famous pop star named Hannah Montanna.
