Wrangling up some fun on Dec. 4, Atascocita High School's FFA Chapter hosted a Christmas party at the Humble Civic Center. As members arrived, they placed ornaments on the lighted tree, which was donated to a local women's shelter. Among all the Christmas decorations hung banners to celebrate the accomplishments of dedicated members who competed in chapter conducting, quiz, radio, skills, job interview and other events. This year has proved a good one for the FFA chapter with various teams placing in district, as well as region. Atascocita was ranked fifth in overall points at the district contest out of about 25 teams. FFA teams were recognized at the beginning of the party, surely a proud moment for students and parents. The dinner was a way to finally relax. Italiano's Restaurant provided the meal for the event, serving pasta with Alfredo sauce, salad and a roll. The dessert table was filled with treats brought by FFA members. With delicious food to celebrate their great year, the Atascocita High School FFA had a night to acknowledge achievements and to share some Christmas joy. Parents, students, Planet Ford, who paid for the ballroom, and all sponsors were thanked for their contributions to the growing program. Next year, the FFA chapter hopes to achieve higher goals.
