HHS IB students Ivan Diaz, Andrew Legall, Faran Riyaz, and Yesenia Vargas were invited to serves as LIMBS Ambassadors and speak about their service learning success at the International Baccalaureate Conference of the Americas in Washington, D.C. The four students developed and implemented a simple but very effective campaign called "Out on a LIMB" to raise money for LIMBS International, an organization that provides prosthetics to amputees around the world.

Students and their parents are invited to attend the Humble High School International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Open House on Tuesday, Oct. 21 in the Humble High School Auditorium at 6 p.m.

This is the first year that the HHS IB program has opened up enrollment to out-of-district students, who are also encouraged to attend.

“I want both the students and parents to get a glimpse of what our IB Program is like,” said Amanda Petree, IB Diploma Coordinator. “IB is one of Humble ISD’s best kept secrets, because students in the program not only graduate more prepared for college and career, but they discover a lot about their abilities and about themselves.”

During the open house both Petree and other IB teachers will speak about program requirements, class content, how to prepare for the courses and the breakdown of the curriculum itself.

The Humble High School International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is an academically acclaimed college preparatory program that is internationally recognized as offering the most prestigious high school diploma available to students. The IBDP curriculum is rigorous, requiring students to complete a two-year program that consists of the study of literature, advanced language, history, advanced sciences, upper level mathematics, epistemology and fine arts. Students are also expected to complete service learning projects as well as a college-level research thesis. The IBDP is proudly offered at Humble High School. All Humble I.S.D. and out-of-district 8th-10th grade students are invited to apply. Click here for Open House Flyer.
