The Lone Star College System has partnered with a consortium of Tenaris-owned companies to provide job training using a $1,455,334 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission. Up to 990 workers will receive training on methods to improve productivity, efficiency and quality; and reduce waste; and the training will provide the workers with credentials in machining and hydraulics. Those trained will include mechanics, warehouse supervisors and technicians. Upon completion of training, the workers could earn an average hourly wage of $20.20.
