Hundreds of family, friends, and community members are expected for the Kingwood Mighty Mustang Military Marching Band Sneak Preview on Thursday, August 24 at 7pm at Kingwood High School. The kids have been hard at work since mid-July when over 25 members of the leadership team had a 2 day training session. The entire band has been practicing since the week of July 31. The community will get a sneak peak of what we can expect to see and hear during the upcoming football season.

The event will start in the parking lot with a performance by the flag line at 7pm and then a short marching show by the band (weather permitting). There will be a meet and greet in the commons where parents and friends can visit with directors and band members. Everyone will then head inside to the auditorium to hear a concert starting with the National Anthem followed by a few marches that will be included in the half time show at the football games this fall. Awards will be given out to freshmen who showed dedication and enthusiasm while learning the new marching technique this summer. Drum Majors, Liv Velvin and Emily Anaya will then lead the band in the Alma Mater, Pledge to Kingwood High School and the fight song, Wabash Cannonball, to close the show.

Band Director Destry Balch is returning for his 14 th year with KM4B and Assistant Band Director Tyler Morrison is starting his 2 nd year here. The marching staff this year also includes Reece Foster (percussion instructor), Krystle McAdams (flag line instructor) and Alec Lloyd & Kim Jones (marching techs).

KM4B will perform at all Kingwood HS football games this fall along with several competitions and marching festivals. The band has a long-standing tradition of performing precision drills to traditional march music as they continue the rich heritage of American military bands.
