St. Martha Catholic School in Kingwood honored and thanked our country’s veterans on Nov. 11 with a special program and reception. Student ambassadors welcomed guests and presented a boutonniere and a handwritten letter of thanks to each attending veteran. Twenty-four veterans were in attendance that represented four of the military branches and included three World War II veterans. The Kingwood Park High School ROTC members presented the colors to begin the event and mesmerized the students and guests with impressive rifle drills. Students sang patriotic songs for the veterans and a special video presentation paid tribute to those who sacrificed much to serve our country. A reception for the veterans and their guests was held after the program. For more information, visit
