The Texas Pest Control Association named Andrew White, a 27yearold service professional with BugMaster Termite & Pest Control based in Humble, as its 2014 Technician of the Year. The presentation was held Dec. 5 at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel.
TPCA chose White out of an elite group of finalists from the entire state of Texas.
Samuel White, Andrew White's father and owner of BugMaster for 36 years, introduced his son at the presentation. "Isn't it ironic that the fathers do the hard work and the son gets the praise,” said Samuel White.
While it got a pretty good laugh, Samuel White was glowing with pride to see his son get the recognition he deserved. He told stories of his son working alongside him since “his eyes were knee high” and about the great rapport Andrew White has with his customers.
The junior White thanked the TPCA and the BugMaster team for the recognition. He expressed that when you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work. He loves solving his customers' problems and making a difference in their lives.
Billy Ray Crosby, now general manager for BugMaster, called Andrew White his pest control trainer and teacher. “When I started working with BugMaster, Andrew was only 20 years old,” said Crosby. “I was impressed at how hard he worked; I couldn’t tell he was the owner's son and he still works with the same tenacity.
“Andrew is very knowledgeable and customers agree he is a respectable, responsible technician who goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure jobs are completed to satisfaction. I wish I could find more technicians of his caliber.”
Andrew White will be recognized in the February 2015 issue of TPCA magazine and PCT Magazine.
