The Original Kennel of Kingwood has re-opened with much to offer for pet owners

After opening the first kennel in Kingwood in 1979, The Original Kennel of Kingwood has had extensive work done to improve the facilities. Carl Colmenares, along with his wife Linda, have spent more than $40,000 remodeling and repairing their kennel, adding new features, including the “top dog suites.” “These suites are the only ones with private outside runs for the dogs, ”said Carl. The four suites are 144 square-feet in size and also include a two-way doggy door, bed, television and web cam for the pet so their owners can be able to see them whenever they wish. Alongside these suites are also the large and extra-large sized kennels. These are veterinarian designed for safety and cleanliness. “The kennels are all on concrete, with special fencing and sanitary partitions between each run inside and out to prevent fights and cross contamination,” said Carl. There is currently 30 indoor-outdoor runs. There is also a separate play area, where dogs are given at least two play times a day. Kennel pricing is all-inclusive and there is a discount given for multiple dogs. “There is no maximum to how long a pet can stay in boarding,” said Carl. However, the holiday minimum is three days. This kennel not only boards dogs but cats as well, and there is a full service grooming facility with an experienced groomer that has worked with the kennel for many years. “We are very caring and loving to the pets,” said Carl, adding their slogan “We love your pets while you’re away!” For more information, visit originalkennel.com.
