Don’t let the slate floors and chandeliers fool you as you walk into Goody Goody Liquor. While their décor boasts an air of elegance and grandeur, Goody Goody prides themselves on keeping prices low. “We have the cheapest prices in Texas and refuse to be beat. That’s been our reputation for close to 50 years,” said Jay Long, General Manger. Goody Goody Liquor, originally Goo Goo Liquor, was started from scratch in 1964 by Joe Jansen with only six bottles of liquor on the shelf. Today, there are 20 locations throughout Texas each offering an expansive selection and superior customer service.  “At Goody Goody Liquor, we value top-notch customer service. You’ll find friendly, outgoing employees willing to help you. We will greet you at the door and even be your personal shopper.  If we put something in your hand, it’s because we like it and think you’ll like it too,” said Long. “Here you will find a comfortable shopping experience and a laid-back atmosphere. Once you go into Goody Goody, you never go anywhere else. We have very loyal customers,” he continued. Unlike some of their competitors, Goody Goody offers the same price for cash or credit. Customers can take advantage of their Bottle Club as well. Each point earned on a Bottle Club card is worth a penny. The cash accumulated on the card can then be put toward future purchases. At approximately 28,000 square-feet, Goody Goody is the largest liquor store in the greater Kingwood/Atascocita/Lake Houston area. Their selection includes 1,300 SKUs of beer spanning 45 beer windows, 4,500 SKUs of liquor and 4,000 wines. “I love watching people’s reactions when they walk in the door. They stop in their tracks and don’t even know which way to turn,” said Long. As shoppers explore the temperature controlled fine wine room and weave their way through the aisles, they will discover many vintage and hard-to-find items. Goody Goody carries all five first growths, an extensive selection of craft beers, a pint selection, some of the rarest wines in the world like Chateau Petrus priced at $3,200, Ace of Spades champagne and much more. Don’t see what you’re looking for on the shelf? Goody Goody will special order it. “We do take special orders. If something is available to buy in Texas, we can get it,” said Long. Shoppers will also find a bar supply section featuring Le Crueset accessories and Eisch crystal, while a small cigar humidor and a section to create your own six-pack is in the works. This is the first Goody Goody Liquor to hit Houston with a second location slated to open in May. “Customers are already coming from around town. The response has been greater than expected,” said Long. For more information on Goody Goody Liquor, visit GoodyGoody.com or call 281-446-0763. The Grand Opening will be April 26-27.
