Properties, Realtor with JLA Realty
How long have you been a Realtor?
I got my license in May of 2016.
Why did you become a Realtor?
I have owned a community-focused events and marketing company here in the Kingwood area for the past 10-plus years and that keeps me busy for about six months out of the year. My wife is a loan officer with Wells Fargo and has often suggested that real estate would be a great fit for my business portfolio and my Type A personality. I couldn’t agree more. In addition, since real estate is 90 percent marketing and 10 percent sales, the two businesses co-exist perfectly!
What is the most expensive home you have ever sold?
I’m gonna do the “politician pivot” on this question because I’d rather mention this amazing listing I have for sale right now in Magnolia, LOL. It’s a 2.5 acre lot in the exclusive Indigo Lake Community with a private lake and dock, perfect for a forever home or weekend getaway! Since the question was about price, that home is listed at $689,000.
How long have you been in the area?
I have spent the last 15 years in the Kingwood area.
What do you think about the market at this time, and what advice might you have for someone considering buying or selling?
I think at a certain price point, the market is on fire right now. The higher priced homes in the $500,000-plus range are sitting, while homes in the $150-$300K range are “flying off the shelves,” so to speak. I have a listing in the $700K range that is an absolute steal for the right buyer and it’s been like pulling teeth just trying to get people interested in touring it. On the flip side, I just had one in Kingwood for $165K that got eight showings and multiple offers, including an all-cash, full-price offer, within 24 hours of hitting the market.
