Yvette McMurray, Broker Associate for Keller Williams Northeast. How long have you been a realtor? I received my agent license in 2006, and then my broker license in 2011. Why did you become a realtor? I have always loved homes; looking at them, decorating them, remodeling them, so I decided to use my knowledge of the local neighborhoods and schools to help people find their perfect home in the Kingwood-Atascocita area. I love helping people sell their house, spotlighting their home so that it sells quickly and for the best price possible. I especially enjoy working with buyers on new construction home purchases. Builders are all different when it comes to quality and included upgrades, and my goal is to help my clients get the best deal for their money, and save them money when possible. What is the most expensive home you have ever sold? My family used to have a business in Town Center named Madisen Avenue, so one of the first properties I sold was the two-story building that it used to be in. A local doctor, Dr. Melissa Young, bought the building to open a medi-spa called Face-It. How long have you been in the area? I moved to Kingwood after high school, and have been here since, with time away for college and a year in The Woodlands in 2009. I have lived in villages of Kingwood zoned for both New Caney ISD and Humble ISD, so I am familiar with both school districts. I always say how lucky we are to live in the Kingwood-Atascocita area, as there is no better place to raise your children or lead a peaceful life. Also we have the best commute to the city of all the planned communities. What do you think about the market at this time, and what advice might you have for someone considering to buy or sell? The market in Houston did not suffer as much as other cities around the country over the last several years, but it has been a buyer’s market. I feel it is beginning to become more equal again; the inventory of homes for sale is not too large and there is decent demand. The market in Kingwood, Atascocita and Oakhurst is good, homes are selling well. The low interest rate makes it a great time to “move-up” or to invest in real estate.
