Edward Jones named one of the best companies to work for For the eighth year, Edward Jones was recently named one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For in America" by "Fortune" Magazine. Edward Jones ranked number 29 overall and ranked number nine on the magazine's "Best Large-sized Company" list. These eight "Fortune" rankings include top 10 finishes for five years and consecutive number one rankings in 2002 and 2003. The magazine also lists Edward Jones as a top 10 company where associates feel encouraged to balance their work and personal life. “As a firm, we have always believed that if we focus on doing what is right by our clients and our associates, we will be successful,” said Atascocita advisor Robert Sitton. “As Edward Jones associates and partners, we take care of our clients and we care about one another. We respect and appreciate every associate whose work helps us to meet the needs of our clients. Clearly, that difference shows.” The “Fortune” ranking is employee driven, with two-thirds of the scoring based upon how randomly selected employees respond to an anonymous survey designed to measure the quality of workplace culture. The remainder of the score is based on an in-depth analysis of the companies' benefits and practices. Edward Jones provides financial services designed to cater to individual investors in the communities in which they live and work. Speech and language disorders can take many forms and can limit academic achievement, social adjustment, and career advancement. An individual may be born with a speech or language disorder, or it may be caused by accidental injury or illness. “42 million Americans have some type of communication disorder,” said Kandy Jenks of Achieve Speech and Language Services. “Since 1927, speech pathologists have specialized in the identification and treatment of communication disorders in both children and adults. Fortunately, most people with speech and language disorders can be helped. Those whose problems cannot be eliminated can be given strategies to help them cope.” Statistics show that one in 10 families in the Humble area are effected by a communication disorder, but with proper treatment, children and adults can lead full and productive lives. Achieve recently opened a state-of-the-art clinic in Atascocita. They will hold a formal ribbon cutting ceremony on May 31.
