Huffman ISD began school online only Aug. 25. Remote learning will continue through Sept. 15.

In response to the difficult circumstances of online learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic, one Summer Creek High School student, Navaeh Jammer, has launched a tutoring program that aims to assist younger students as they grapple with the reality of online learning.

In partnership with Humble ISD, the Atascocita Fire Department AFD) began EMT classes for high school seniors Aug. 17.

Humble ISD Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen knew this first week of the school year would be different from the first week of any previous school year ever.

There have been 21 individuals across 44 schools plus support facilities who have been on campuses and reported positive tests since Aug. 11, according to Humble ISD, which has more than 6,000 staff members and 45,000 students.

Despite being forced to host online services and cancel their annual Blessing the Backpacks event, the Atascocita United Methodist Church (AUMC) was able to pull off a socially distanced parade Sunday, Aug. 9, where hundreds of parishioners and members of the local community drove through a pre-planned route inside the church’s parking lot.
