Feb. 17 was a  busy day at the Humble ISD administration building as several  new candidates officially declared their intentions to run for seats on the Humble ISD Board of Trustees. In all, 15 candidates have filed to run in the May 2017 election.

There’s good news for Lake Houston drivers maneuvering the crowded roads in the southern Lake Houston area. Woodland Hills Drive will be a four-lane boulevard stretching from Beltway 8 to FM 1960.

A group of committed book lovers at Lone Star College-Kingwood took a gamble last year. In this age of Facebook and Twitter and streaming videos, they organized a book fair, inviting local as well as nationally and internationally published writers. 

The Humble ISD board approved priorities for the 85th Texas Legislative session which includes support for full funding of pre-K for all students who meet the state eligibility requirements.

The Kingwood Big Band, under the direction of Alfredo Vélez, will present its 5th annual Jazz Festival on March 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Lone Star College(LSC)-Kingwood’s Student Conference Center.
