There is one issue most Texans agree on — legalizing gambling in Texas. State Rep. Dan Huberty has filed a bill to do just that.

As the March 11 Lake Houston Redevelopment Authority and Tax Increment Zone No. 10 (TIRZ) meeting began, Chairman Stan Sarman welcomed Houston Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin into the teleconference by asking if he had any opening comments. Martin responded in a humorous tone:

State Rep. Dan Huberty is a source of pride among his constituents. He was first elected in 2011 when Joe Crabb retired as District 127 state representative. Huberty has championed a variety of issues but kept his focus on education. Two sessions ago, he was named chair of the House Committee on Public Education.
