The Atascocita United Methodist Church (AUMC) recently welcomed a new senior pastor, Mike Tyson, as it celebrates its 35th anniversary.

On Oct. 1, Dee Price of Sand Creek reported to the Kingwood Service Association (KSA) Parks Committee that she recently participated in a meeting to go over the landscaping plans for the Kingwood entrance area as part of the overall Northpark Drive Improvement Project.

Revisions to board operating procedures and committee meetings were discussed again at Humble ISD’s recent school board meeting resulting in no official change, but the board did indicate an expectation to improve transparency through additional working sessions as needed.

Former Humble Assitant Police Chief Ken Theis is the new chief of police for the city. He was chosen unanimously, welcomed and sworn into office by all members of the Humble City Council Oct. 8.

The Holy Spirit works in wondrous ways. A First Methodist Humble staff member suggested the church should do something special to recognize the tireless dedication of the Humble Police Department.

Four years from today, FM 1960 from Humble to the San Jacinto River Bridge could be drastically changed – a six-lane divided roadway with curbs and gutters and a raised median and, most dramatically, an overpass bridge at West Lake Houston Parkway.
