Kingwood man dies after being set on fire

Houston police are investigating the deadly assault of a man and a woman at 2046 Aspen Glade Drive, near Hidden Pines Drive in the Woodland Hills Village, in Kingwood that occurred about 10 p.m., Friday, Aug. 6.

Humble adopts fire code updates

On Aug. 12, the Humble City Council met to approve proposed changes to the local fire code for new buildings and structures. These changes are being made and deemed necessary for the interest of public health, safety and the general welfare of citizens, according to City Manager Jason Stuebe.

Humble ISD celebrates history of Lakeland

Humble ISD celebrated Lakeland Elementary School at the July board meeting. The school counts six decades serving the community. Attendees watched a video starring three current students in an energy-filled compilation of the past and present milestones of the campus. Lakeland has served as a neighborhood school for 60 years.

Humble approves new fee schedule for civic center, arena

The Humble City Council voted to raise rates at the Humble Civic Center and Arena Complex. The move came July 22 at the council meeting. City Manager Jason Stuebe said, “These new rates put the civic center at rates that are competitive with the market rates for the value people are receiving.”
