Capitol Christmas Tree has local touch

 Earlier this month, State Rep. Dan Huberty and his family accompanied the Parker Family of Kingwood to the Texas Capitol to present the District 127 ornament for the Texas House Christmas Tree.

The ornament was decorated by the Parker Family, which includes Jason, Chris, Payton, 8, and Sheridan, 6, who said they were thrilled and honored to be asked to decorate the 2016 ornament.

Eagles’ historic season ends with 63-21 loss

The Atascocita Eagles suffered a crushing blow to their state title run at the hands of Lake Travis, falling one game short of the UIL Class 6A Division I championship game.

After their previous overtime win in a thriller against North Shore, Atascocita traveled to San Antonio Dec. 10 to face Region IV champion Lake Travis at the Alamodome. To the surprise of many, the game was a relatively one-sided affair.

An Humble Christmas

Humble’s annual Christmas parade was the best ever.

The Kingwood Park High School dance team, the Silver Stars, posed before the big event began.  Main Street was filled with excited residents. Many people arrived as early as 5:30 p.m. for the night of festivities. High school students performed carols to entertain the crowd as they waited for the parade to begin.
