Officers are currently staging in preparation to deploy officers to reported high water locations. We are prioritizing the Kingwood Greens, Kings Harbor, and Forest Cove areas with this first wave of support. Additional resources are coming in to our area and those will begin staging and then head out later today.
Current shelters in that Lake Houston Area that we are aware of at this time are:
Words of Life Church, 7811 FM 1960, Humble, TX 77346
M.O. Campbell Education Center, 1865 Aldine Bender, Houston, TX 77032
St. Mary's Magdalene Church, 527 S Houston Ave, Humble, TX 77338
Lake Conditions: Lake Houston level is currently at 48.75 ft, releasing more than 158,800 cubic feet per second it continues to rain so levels are still expected to rise. If you could please emphasize that Lake Conroe is not the only contributing factor to our flooding situation the West Fork of the San Jacinto sits at the base of twelve tributaries and we are working with the Coastal Water Authority to do an estimate of the volume of water moving into our area as a result of those tributaries.
Our message is help is on the way please continue to be patient and call the HPD Citizen Line for information and to report high water locations. As more shelters come on line we will let you know. Also please ask citizens that are willing to assist with supplies and food to sit tight for the moment, we will have information on needs for shelters shortly and where to deliver supplies.
