The Dynasty Black 14-and-under baseball team recently took home the Mid-South Region national championship in dramatic fashion. Coach Andy Yount led the team, consisted of players from Atascocita, Kingwood and Huffman, to a perfect 9-0 record in the season-ending tournament. The team allowed only 11 runs while scoring 80 in the week long event. The championship match proved to be the toughest for Dynasty; trailing 4-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the bats got hot and two consecutive singles by Jack Schwabenlander and Nick Benedict set the pace for a run scoring double by Colton Hutchinson. Ryan Dempster contributed a two-run single, followed by another single from Hunter Stevens. After two Dynasty batters were intentionally walked, the bases were loaded and John Paul Rodriguez provided the game-winning RBI single to give the Dynasty the national tittle. With the title, the Dynasty Black ended the 2010 season with an overall 47-11 season.
