Commissioner R. Jack Cagle’s Road & Bridge Department handles all aspects of maintaining the roads and bridges in Harris County right-of-ways, including the installation of driveways for residents in unincorporated areas.
As part of the driveway installation, crews determine the appropriate culvert pipe size needed and set the culvert to grade. Properly installed culverts help improve water flow, minimize flood risk, and prevent erosion along roadways.
Residents interested in requesting a driveway installation must apply for a permit with theResidential Permitting Section of the Harris County Public Infrastructure Department and pay for their own pipes. Residential driveway installations are provided as a service of Harris County’s Road & Bridge Departments.
