Trevino was a district chief from 1999-2004. He joined the department in 1986 and gave 22 years of volunteer service to the community. Zapatka was the department chief from 2002-2004, and an assistant chief in 1985, and again 1993-2002. He gave 24 years of volunteer service to the community. Chiles joined AVFD in 1986 and became a chief of the department from 1992-1994 and again from 1996-1998. He was the assistant chief of EMS in 2002. He's won numerous awards and commendations during his 21 years of volunteer service to the community. All were awarded lifetime membership in the AVFD.
