Someone do something!

Dear Editor:
Many thanks for publishing the great article re: the ruptured section of sidewalk near the Harris County Flood Control District ditch. Now, maybe, just maybe, one or more of the entities referenced in that article will take corrective action … for the COMMON GOOD. Isn’t that what our local governments are supposed to do?

What great about our home!

Dear Editor:
I invite Tribune readers to take a moment to reflect on what they enjoy about their community. Does it have a small-town feel? Local media recently reported that residents most frequently describe their ideal community as having a small-town feel. In Precinct 4, we strive to help all our residents build a stronger sense of community through events, programs, festivals and quality public spaces. That elusive, small-town feel also depends on you. I encourage you to get out and connect with your community! As a reminder, visit Precinct 4 online to learn more about our road projects and upcoming events available through our community centers, parks department and Senior Adult Program.

Harris County Precinct 4

Amazing Science

Dear Editor:
A recent article claims that Dr. Rich Terrile, the director of the Center for Evolutionary Computation and Automated Design at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, believes “that our reality is an elaborate hologram created by an alien race.” Terrile reportedly said, “We can all be the creation of a cosmic computer programmer as opposed to a god.” Hmmm … hardly a scientific discovery, and really just another “brilliant” individual shaking his fist in the face of the Lord God Almighty, the creator of heaven and earth, and the one who came to earth as a human, Jesus of Nazareth, and paid the price for Terrile’s sins so he too could be saved from the slave market of sin and death and ultimately the wrath of God. For God so loved the world that He gave His only born Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). He who believes in the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him (John 3:36). “An elaborate hologram?” Good grief! I don’t think so … an elaborate and wonderful creation created by God Himself? Absolutely yes!
