Kingwood Garden Club members recently met at the home of Linda Odell. Planning for future events, these members continually work to educate the club and the community about nature and local resources. Native plants, water usage, butterflies and birds, non-chemical pesticides, and flower arrangements are but a few of the topics shared throughout the year. Upcoming events include various programs and speakers, luncheons, an overnight pilgrimage, educational excursions, a trip to Bernhardt Winery, floral designs and horticultural studies, and a Christmas celebration. This 130-plus organization of men and women has involvement in Arbor Day, caladium sales, the Garden of Hope, the Reforest the Forest Project, and Yard of the Month winners. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month, September through May, at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church at 9 a.m. Interested persons should email Margo Rushin at This email address is being protected from spambots.
