Ducks in the Classroom Students in Heather Woelfel's class at Woodland Hills Elementary are participating in a project that involves the annual purchase of a dozen fertilized duck eggs from Knox Farm and Feed on 494. The eggs are incubated in the class until they hatch. The class cares for the chicks for three weeks before giving them back to the feed store. There are currently eight adorable chicks in the classroom cared for by the kids until the end of the year. Each of the chicks has its own name and personality. The chicks are kept in a small cage most of the day, but they allowed to roam and interact during the students' circle time. Photo by Kathy Parks
