The hospital’s gym has everything from low-impact aerobics, 50-plus classes, and strength and toning classes, to Tai Chi, infant massage classes, full weight room, personal trainers and body-fat testing. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle includes keeping your blood pressure and blood sugar in check. Linda Howard, an LVN with Signature Health Services, visits the Harris County Precinct 4 Crosby Community Center the first Tuesday of each month to take blood readings. Her visit also presents an opportunity to discover the latest innovations and medical updates in the treatment and management of diabetes. Other fitness activities include: rhythm walking, advanced line dancing, dart baseball, body toning, chair exercises, dancercise and yoga. For information, call 281-462-0543.
Strengthen your body while playing with your baby. This is not another stroller workout. It is indoors with baby on a blanket or in your arms. The exercise routine uses baby playtime to firm up with push-up kisses, airplane ride crunches, sun salutations with tickles and giggles and so much more. The class is geared for infants six weeks to crawling. Classes are on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. For information, call 281-358-7765.
