“We opened [our offices] three years ago, and we are now one of the fastest growing Vision Source practices in the country,” said Block.

The additional space has allowed them to expand their dispensary and give patients even more choices in their eye-wear selection.

“This allowed us a larger reception area with a corner area for the kids. Dr. Danz’s wife, Kathy, did a beautiful job on the mural in the kids’ area,” said Simpson.

The practice also added two additional exam lanes and new technology including the Z-View aberrometer, which allows them to use the same “Wavefront” guided-technology used in Lasik to correct high-order aberrations.

Simpson said future business goals include new technology to better serve patients and adding a doctor to the practice. 

“This will allow all of us an opportunity to expand our practice as well as being able to fill-in for each other, so each of us can take vacation time,” Simpson said.

Block and Simpson concentrate on providing the best eye care available to their patients.

“Each person’s correction, whether they are nearsighted, farsighted, with or without astigmatism, is very unique, like a fingerprint,” Simpson said. “Now we can analyze more than we could in the past and create a lens unique to each person’s cornea and high order aberrations.”

“I was really impressed with the enhanced vision I received with these new iZon custom lenses. Without the expansion, it would have been difficult to have room for the new equipment.”

Block said he can now help correct visual distortions that cause problems such as night blindness - something he could not do in the past.

Simpson and Block attended the University of Houston College of Optometry and graduated together in 1994.

According to Block and Simpson, the expansion was completed in August and was made possible, thanks to a lot of assistance from their leasing agent with The Betz Companies.

The doctors invite the community to come by for a visit and check out the new space and selection of eye wear.

These partners in optometry have been friends for 19 years and they said a lot of their success comes from the great support they have had from the community.
