A 35-year-old Kingwood man was arrested Friday morning on multiple child pornography charges at his apartment on the Eastex Freeway near Kingwood Drive, according to the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.
The suspect, Jason Corey Roberts, is accused of downloading images of child pornography on his computer at his residence at the Mallard Creek apartment complex at 23423 U.S. Highway 59. Precinct 4 deputies were assisted in executing a search warrant at 6 a.m. that morning by the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
“We served a search warrant involving an investigation of possible child pornography,” said Precinct 4 Captain Mark Seals. “Once we made entry to the house, the residence was unoccupied at that time. While we were continuing the search warrant, I made contact with [Roberts], who was at work at that time,” said Precinct 4 Captain Mark Seals.
Seals said Roberts works as a warehouse dispatcher and agreed to come talk with police at his apartment when reached by phone.
“While he was there, he made a full confession that he did, on more than one occasion, download images of child pornography,” Seals said.
While searching the apartment, investigators found several computers which underwent on-scene forensic examinations, authorities reported.
“We did see several images of child pornography, which confirmed our investigation,” said Seals.
The computer will be sent to a lab for a full forensic investigation, according to police.
Roberts was booked in Montgomery County Jail on $200,000 bond.
