Humble teen suspect arrested for murder

A 16-year-old suspect believed to have killed a 15-year-old during a home invasion was arrested while trying to leave town, according to Harris County deputies. The suspect was wanted for the murder/home invasion case which occurred on July 27 at the 23600 block of Rustic Oak Court in the Birnamwood’s subdivision. The 15-year-old teenager, Alberto Cardenas, was shot and killed when he and two of his friends were approached by a group of black men and teens, who forced them into the home at gunpoint. Patrol units from Harris County Constable’s Offices Precinct 4 received information about a vehicle attempting to leave town with the Capital Murder suspect. According to investigators, a description of the vehicle and the direction of travel was given to the patrol units; the suspect vehicle located going eastbound on F.M. 1960 East Bypass at Lee Road; additional units were called in and a felony stop was made at the 20400 block of Eastex Freeway northbound feeder by Precinct 4 deputies and units with the Humble Police Department. Two adults and the juvenile Capital Murder suspect were taken into custody without incident, and the scene was released to Harris County Sheriff’s Office homicide unit, who transported the suspects into custody.
