City of Humble council members approved the development of a Costco on Townsen Blvd.
The Humble City Council gave developers the go-ahead to build a Costco on Townsen Boulevard during its June 25 meeting.
Council members approved an 18.9-acre development plat known as Townsen Landing Village to be built at the northwest corner of Townsen Blvd. and the U.S. 59 feeder road.
“One thing is that this is probably the most complete set of plat plans that I've seen since I've been on council.,” said Humble Mayor Merle Aaron.
The approved development includes a 742,562 square-foot site where the Costco is to be constructed.
There is not date set for the opening of the members-only warehouse store, but crews began clearing the land months ago.
Approval of Change Order Number 2 for the 2015 Concrete Pavement Improvements Project – Package 1 in the amount of $121,123.20 payable to Metro City Construction,L.P. for the inclusion of the rehabilitation of the First Street sanitary sewer line from Avenue C to Houston Avenue.
The council also approved the rehabilitation of the First Street sanitary sewer line from Avenue C to Houston Avenue.
The next council meeting is scheduled for July 9 at Humble City Hall.
